Meine tausendjährige Eiche (3/997) oder/or My thousand year old oak tree (3/997)

Besucher fragen immer nach meiner tausendjährigen Eiche. Hier ist sie, for the whole world to see (huch, vielleicht sollte ich auch was auf Englisch dazu schreiben, von wegen whole world und so). Visitors to my house always ask to see my thousand year old oak tree.

Naja gut, noch ist sie nicht tausendjährig (ich glaube, sie ist drei), aber in erdgeschichtlichen Zeiträumen sind 997 Jahre ja nicht sooo viel. Okay, it is not really a thousand years old yet (I think it's three), but viewed on a geologic time scale 997 years is not all that much. Befindet sich unter meinen Lesern vielleicht eine Waldfachmännin oder ein Waldfachmann? Oder eine Biologin oder ein Biologe? Is there perhaps a female or male forest expert or a female or male biologist among my readers? Oder irgendjemand, der weiß, wie man das Alter einer Eiche bestimmen kann, ohne sie auseinander zu schneiden und ihre Jahresringe zu zählen? Or anybody who knows how to determine the age of an oak tree without cutting it in half and counting the growth rings?

Ich habe den Baum letztes Jahr im Spessart gefunden. Er hatte kein Halsband und auch keinen implantierten Chip. Da habe ich ihn mit nach Hause genommen.

I found the tree last year in the Spessart forest in Germany. It did not have a collar nor an implanted microchip. So I took it with me to give it shelter in my house. Er war etwa 17 cm hoch und hatte drei Blätter. Dieses Jahr hat er sechs Blätter und ist etwa 20 cm hoch. In Bodenhöhe hat er einen Umfang von etwa 1 cm. It was about 7 inches tall and had three leaves. This year, it has six leaves and is about 8 inches tall. Its circumference at ground is approximately half of an inch. Ich schätzte einfach mal, dass er zwei war, als ich ihn aufnahm, aber so langsam wie der im letzten Jahr gewachsen ist, könnte er auch ein, zwei Jahre älter sein. I just guessed it was two years old when I adopted it, but seeing how slowly it has grown from last year to this, well, maybe it's a little older. Wann ist dieser Baum aus seiner Eichel geschlüpft? When did this tree hatch from its acorn? Über eine fachmännische Antwort würde ich mich sehr freuen. I'd be really happy to get a knowledgeable answer.
